Never too soon to think about getting back on the bike

Bike Palatine has plenty of spring activities set in 2020 for those who like to get around on two wheels.

Plans call for the spring events to start March 24, with a bicycle safety program at Palatine Public Library. A club representative will provide safety tips designed to benefit parents and their children.

Members will return to the library, 700 N. North Court, April 22 to discuss their experiences on the renowned RAGBRAI cycling event sponsored by the Des Moines Register newspaper in Iowa. RAGBRAI stands for the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.

An opportunity to learn about bicycle basics through riding on streets safety will be the featured topic April 26 at Harper College in Palatine. The club then will encourage Palatine students of all ages to be part of a bike-to-school national effort May 6.

Bike Palatine also will offer casual evening rides. Participants must wear helmets.
