Two Elgin churches to host Advent Lessons and Carols Dec. 8

On Sunday, Dec. 8, the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer and St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church are hosting an Advent Lessons and Carols service at 4 p.m. at St. Hugh, 36W957 Highland Ave. in Elgin.

The two churches will be represented by their priests, praise bands, adult choirs, children's choirs and the Elgin Episcopal Celtic Band.

This service is a celebration of the Advent season featuring nine readings and nine hymns and songs.

Following the service, there will be a reception with coffee, cocoa and cookies.

Adults and children of all ages are welcome!
