Glen Ellyn Woman's Club celebrates their 125th holiday fundraiser

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, over 100 members and guests of the Glen Ellyn Woman's Club gathered at the Glen Oak Country Club to celebrate their 125th Holiday Luncheon.

The program for the afternoon was the Madrigal Singers from Glenbard West High School.

The audience cheered with enthusiasm as the singers performed ancient melodies and contemporary well known Christmas songs.

The silent auction was very successful and included gift certificates from area restaurants as well as holiday gift baskets filled with a variety of presents and special items.

The proceeds from this event are used to fund scholarships for Glenbard West and Glenbard South high schools.

The club hoped to earn funds to increase the amount of the scholarships for both high schools.

The next Glen Ellyn Woman's Club meeting will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Glen Ellyn History Center. The program for the afternoon will be "Choosing Happiness" presented by teacher and counselor Susan Thorne Devin.

Guests are welcome. Call (630) 363-5327 to make a reservation.
