Smart decision

Kudos to Arlington Heights taking the bold step to prohibit all pot from being sold in their beautiful town. I sincerely hope many other towns around will do the same before the marijuana law takes effect.

In doing this, Arlington Heights has learned from the disastrous results of legal recreational pot in Colorado. More crime, more automobile accidents, no profit because all the profit has gone for setting up centers to treat those with addictions, more ER visits from accidental ingestion by toddlers and pollution from the smell that is so prevalent.

These "legal states" have seen an increase in usage in all ages, including youth. They have seen an increase in mariuana-related psychosis and violent behavior, an increase in pot-related calls to poison control centers and an increase in black market crime. Because the marijuana of today is so high potency, smoking one joint is like smoking eighteen joints from back in the Woodstock days. Therein, lies the danger.

Thank you, Arlington Heights. As a neighbor, I respect, honor and am in total agreement with you on this issue.
