Lottery light bulb
I've been buying lottery tickets for at least 35 years - Lotto, Mega Millions, Powerball, instant. Figuring conservatively, I'd estimate I've spent thousands of dollars on them. Typically, I'll buy $20 and win $2.00. Instead of saying "I just lost $18.00," I say "I won $2." The light bulb went on today. I'm done buying lottery tickets. If I take the money I spend on them and put it in a cookie jar instead, I will not lose.
