Police: Hoffman Estates squad car struck Saturday

A Hoffman Estates squad car responding to a call Saturday night was T-boned by another vehicle at the intersection of Higgins Road and Moon Lake Boulevard, officials said.

There were no significant injuries reported, but both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene, Hoffman Estates police Sgt. Mark Mueller said.

The crash occurred at 7:45 p.m. Saturday as the squad car was traveling east on Higgins Road and the other vehicle was southbound on Governors Lane - the road that lines up with Moon Lake Boulevard on the north side of Higgins.

No further information on the crash, including possible traffic citations, was available Monday.
