Woman with Alzheimer's reported missing from Batavia

Update: Authorities reported Dawn M. Peskind has been found safe.

Police are looking for a woman with Alzheimer's disease who has gone missing from Batavia, officials said.

Dawn M. Peskind was reported missing Wednesday around 7:40 p.m., according to a news release from Batavia police. Peskind is described as a 57-year-old white woman, around 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 135 pounds. She has dark blonde hair and brown eyes, police said.

Peskind's family last heard from her around 4 p.m. Police believe she left her home driving a black 2013 BMW 535i with an Illinois license plate reading “NIEINC,” the release said. She was wearing a white or orange V-neck sweater, blue jeans and a puffy white coat. Peskind was with her terrier, which is white with brown and black spots.
