Police now say Batavia child luring report unfounded

A report of a man attempting to lure a student into his car Thursday in Batavia was determined be unfounded, police said.

Shortly before 4 p.m., a student reported the incident had occurred near Fox Trail Drive and Hart Road, according to a news release from the Batavia Police Department. About 9:20 p.m., the police sent out a revised news release saying they concluded there had been no luring attempt.

Batavia police said the department takes all reports seriously and encourages the public to continue to come forward.
