Barrington starting series of neighborhood meetings on comprehensive plan

Barrington is kicking off a series of neighborhood meetings Wednesday that'll be focused on the village's comprehensive plan.

Officials said the joint session of the village board and advisory plan commission is set for 7 p.m. at village hall, 200 S. Hough St. Residents in areas just south of Cuba Road are encouraged to attend the first neighborhood meeting.

The village typically reviews the comprehensive plan every 10 years for planning purposes. The document includes chapters on land use, neighborhoods, housing, transportation, community design and character.

Village officials received feedback on issues from residents through a community survey early this year. Officials said the goal is for an updated comprehensive plan to be ready for village board approval in December 2020.
