New tub equals a new start
Our harvest gold bathtub dates to 1974. Although we installed a protective tub surround and sliding shower doors in the 1990s when our athletic teenagers showered a lot, the tub is now a dated color and the glass doors make it difficult for family members, now in their 80s, to enter and exit safely.
An update in white would lighten the room considerably and make it safer for seniors.

The homeowner summed up their current situation very well. The harvest color is outdated and darkens the bathroom. Stepping into the tub, the shower door track adds at least an extra inch to clear and can certainly be unsafe. There are many ways to create a safe and bright tub area for this family.
Suggestions:
• We would like to see a new, white bathtub in place of the old harvest gold. A white hexagonal wall surround with a Reveal tile look to it will bring the space up to date, while making it a bright, modern space.
• We would suggest a curved shower rod rather than a shower door for safety as well as aesthetic purposes.
•Additionally, a four-shelf corner caddy will give the homeowner plenty of space for shampoo and all of their toiletries.
• Updating the plumbing and fixtures with a modern color will top off the new, safe and brighter bathroom.
