Girls tennis: WSC Silver well-represented at state

There will be a West Suburban Conference Silver Division matchup in the Class 2A doubles championship match at Buffalo Grove on Saturday.

Top-seeded Shannele and Sienna Lopez will square off against Hinsdale Central's Zoe Limparis and Katie Dollens, the second seed. It will be the second straight match against a Hinsdale Central pairing for the Hilltoppers team. The Lopez sisters defeated the Red Devils' Sarah Badawi and Caroline Kotarski, a 3-4 seed, in the semifinals Friday 6-1, 6-0.

The Class 1A doubles final will feature Benet's Kendall Schrader and Kaitlyn Lee, the No. 2 seed, against Chicago University High's top-seeded duo of Isabella Kellemeier and Emilee Pak.

Benet is second in the Class 1A team standings with 28 points, 5 behind University High. St. Francis is in a four-way tie for eighth place with 8 points.

In the Class 2A team standings, Hinsdale Central is second with 32 points, trailing Lake Forest by 3. New Trier is third and Glenbard West's 16 points have the Hilltoppers in fourth place. York, another WSC Silver team, is in a four-way tie for ninth place with 10 points.
