Arlington Heights Legion post collects items for homeless vets

American Legion Post 208 in Arlington Heights will host a special collection of household items for veterans exiting homelessness.

Everything from kitchen items and cleaning supplies to linens and toiletries are needed for veterans who are moving into their first apartment or home after being homeless.

A collection for Military Outreach USA, which distributes the items for vets at VA hospitals, will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 28-Nov. 3, at the Legion post, 121 N. Douglas Ave.
