Arlington Cares to host Wine Tasting Fundraiser

Arlington Cares, a local not-for-profit organization, is holding its annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Cooper's Hawk, 798 W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights.

This year's event will feature a silent auction of items, including a catered dinner for six by Chef Rich Poppert; a women's electric bicycle; a week at the Beacons Resort and more. In addition to the silent auction, there will also be a live auction, raffles, hors d'oeuvres, wine and entertainment.

"This event is always the highlight of the year for us," Arlington Cares President Sharon Swanson said. "We get to meet our supporters, tell them about the work we are doing and raise funds for a great cause."

The mission of Arlington Cares is to fundraise for the Emergency Assistance program, which is administered by the village of Arlington Heights' Social Services division. Nicole Espinoza, village Social Services coordinator, will be sharing this year's success story, which highlights residents' most common need - rental assistance.

Tickets to the fundraiser are $65 and advanced purchase is recommended, as space is limited. To purchase tickets, visit www.arlingtoncaresnfp.org or call Nancy Cardella at (847) 368-5791.
