Vernon Area library trustee resigning

Veteran Vernon Area Public Library board member Jay Kasten has announced his resignation from the Lincolnshire-based panel.

Kasten, a trustee since 1995, is stepping down because he's moving out of the district. Monday's board meeting will be his last.

Officials plan to honor Kasten with a resolution at the meeting, which is set for 7 p.m. in the library annex, 4 Indian Creek Road.
