Elk Grove TV wins national award two years in a row

For the second year in a row, the Alliance for Community Media has selected Elk Grove Village's public access cable television station as best in the nation in its category.

The national organization gave Elk Grove Television (EGTV) the Overall Excellence in Governmental Access Award in the Hometown Video Awards' $300,000 to $650,000 budget range category.

EGTV, which is on Channel 6 on cable in Elk Grove households, won the same award in 2006, 2011 and 2018. The station's winning entry this year included programming clips of "Inside the Village," "On Duty," "Strictly Business," coverage of the Elk Grove High School commencement, public service announcements and sports coverage.
