Barrington High history now at students' fingertips

It's easier than ever to learn about the achievements of Barrington High School alumni.

As part of last week's eighth annual Alumni Legends evening, a giant touch screen stored with a plethora of information was unveiled near the school's library.

Historic school information and noteworthy achievements are part of what can be accessed through the touch screen. Barrington High graduates who served in the military, students in the top 5% of their class, distinguished alumni and clubs over the years are some of what the big screen offers.

The private Barrington 220 Educational Foundation and school worked together to provide funding for the touch screen.

Last week's Alumni Legends program was "Journeys in Journalism: Past, Present and Future." Barrington High alum Chris Erskine, a columnist and editor for the Los Angeles Times, moderated a panel discussion. Other participants included WGN-Channel 9 sportscaster Lauren Magiera, ESPN/ABC Sports coordinating production editor Andy Armas and Chicago-based Fox News correspondent Michael Tobin.
