Des Plaines man accused of sexually assaulting girl in Rolling Meadows
A Des Plaines man was ordered held on $50,000 bail on charges he sexually abused a girl nine years ago when she was 7.
Jose Alfredo Guadarrama-Hernandez, 32, faces predatory criminal sexual assault charges, which carry a sentence of up to 30 years in prison upon conviction.
Cook County Judge Samuel Betar ordered Guadarrama-Hernandez have no contact with the girl or anyone else under 18. He also ordered the defendant submit to GPS and electronic home monitoring, said Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Loukas Kalliantasis.
The now 16-year-old accuser was 7 when prosecutors say the abuse took place in Rolling Meadows, where Guadarrama-Hernandez lived at the time. Prosecutors say the abuse occurred between March 2010 and March 2011. Kalliantasis said Guadarrama-Hernandez told the girl that her parents would not believe her and she would get in trouble if she told authorities about the abuse.
The girl did not tell her parents because she "hoped it would go away," Kalliantasis said, adding that she told her mother about the abuse last June.
Guadarrama-Hernandez returns to court Oct. 24.
