HolmesMS teachers flipping burgers not pages to raise money at McTeacher's Night

Wheeling| Holmes Middle Schoolstudents gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the school'sPTO.Teachers from SchoolDistrict 21 volunteered behind the counter on Wednesday, October 2nd at theMcDonald's located on Dundee Road. The teachers worked hard to serve students andtheir families in a fundraiser for the School.Mr. Hamann and Mrs.Hlavacek tended the giant apple pie costume during the night to entertain theguests. Alongside them were Mrs. McGann and Ms. Rein helping to sell the pies.Principal Richards said,"A BIG thank you to all of the families who came out to support our Holmes PTO tonight,despite the rain! Every year teachers and staff get so excited to help and bepart of such a great night."The proceeds from thesale of 192 pies went directly to benefit Holmes PTO. Twenty percent of theproceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to Holmes aswell, which plans to put the money in the Holmes PTO fund to support thestudents.David Bear, Owner-Operatorof the Wheeling McDonald's, was delighted to participate in the worthy causefor education and the community."McTeacher's Nightis part of McDonald's larger commitment to education and other importantinitiatives supporting families and the local community," Bear said.David Bear is always lookingfor new opportunities to help the local communities surrounding his McDonald'srestaurants."We are proud toserve the families of the Holmes community through the McTeacher's Nightevent," Bear continued.
