Man hit by car in St. Charles Township dies

A St. Charles Township man who was hit by a car Tuesday night along Courier Avenue has died, authorities confirmed Thursday.

David Busby, 40, was walking in the roadway near the Sycamore Avenue intersection about 9 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound Ford Crown Victoria, according to the Kane County sheriff's office.

Busby was airlifted to a Chicago-area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Undersheriff Pat Gengler said he died Thursday.

The 28-year-old St. Charles woman driving the car was not injured.

Gengler said the investigation is ongoing.
