Chicago Master Singers seeking new music director

The Barrington-based Chicago Master Singers announced Thursday that it is accepting applications for its new music director.

Alan Heatherington, the music director for 31 years, will step down from his position with the chorus after its 2019-2020 season and international performance tour in July 2020.

Information about the position and candidate qualifications can be found at www.chicagomastersingers.org/jobs. Applications and inquiries can be sent to info@chicagomastersingers.org. The deadline for applications is Nov. 15.

The chorus will select guest conductors for its 2020-2021 season from among the top candidates for the position, with a view to hiring a permanent music director starting with the 2021-2022 season.

Chicago Master Singers is an auditioned chorus of approximately 100 volunteer singers from Chicago and many suburbs. The chorus has performed choral masterworks in collaboration with professional soloists and orchestras in the Chicago area since 1979 and on 13 tours in Europe.
