Campton Hills taking comments on revising zoning code

The Village of Campton Hills has released the public draft of its newly revised zoning code. The draft is available for viewing and download on its website, www.villageofcamptonhills.org.

A paper copy also is available for public inspection at the Village Hall, 40W270 LaFox Road, Campton Hills, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The village's planning and zoning commission has released the public workshop and hearing schedule below.

• 1st Draft Zoning Code Meeting: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 - Camiros presentation

• 2nd Draft Zoning Code Meeting: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 - public comments

• 3rd Draft Zoning Code Meeting: 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 - public comments

• Public Hearing on Draft Zoning Code Meeting: 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 - voting

All meetings will be held at the Campton Township Community Center, 5N082 Old LaFox Road, Campton Hills.

In 2013, the village began the process of rewriting its zoning code and subdivision regulations by partnering with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.

This partnership led to selecting Camiros Ltd. as the consulting firm to assist the village in this complex and tedious process.

The purpose of this rewrite process is to transition the village from reliance upon Kane County regulations to its own ordinances to guide future development and help to implement the village's comprehensive plan.
