Aurora to hold public hearing on recreational cannabis sales Oct. 2

The City of Aurora Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Oct. 2, to hear testimony concerning a proposed resolution to revise the city's zoning ordinance regarding the sale of recreational cannabis in Aurora.

The public hearing will begin at 7 p.m. at the Aurora City Hall, 44 E. Downer Place.

All who want to attend the public hearing to observe, ask questions, or offer testimony are welcome and encouraged to do so.

Anyone wishing to be heard for or against the topic may make statements during the hearing, submit statements in writing or both.

Following the public hearing on Oct. 2, the resolution will follow the city council's normal legislative process and be addressed at the building, zoning and economic development committee at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, the committee of the whole at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 and, if approved at the preceding meetings, come to a final vote at the full city council at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The final vote on the ordinance revision dictates the city's participation in the sale of adult recreational cannabis.
