What takes so long?

Gee, who'd have guessed. Another day and no contractors working on the additional lane being constructed on the I-355 tollway between Roosevelt and Butterfield Roads. How many more months (years) do the Tollway and their contractors need to construct less than one mile of pavement on both sides of the road?

October is right around the corner and this project has taken almost two construction seasons to reach its current state of incompletion with narrowed lanes, no shoulders and barrier walls at the edge of your fenders.

I guess Pritzker didn't go far enough when he fired the Tollway Board. He should have gone further and fired the tollway administrators and engineers responsible for this project as well as canceled the contracts of the incompetent contractors.

If this is what motorists can expect of future tollway construction we are in big trouble.
