Dunk tank adds splashes of fun at Naperville Catholic school's fair

It's always fun when there's a dunk tank.

That proved true Friday evening in Naperville for attendees of the annual Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School Fun Fair.

The Rev. Brad Baker, pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, became one of the tank's early captors as the event kicked off, letting students and community members soak him under the junior high school's overhang during a "Splash for Cash."

It's always fun when there's a food truck, too.

And there was one at Friday's fair, parked close to the junior high on a rainy day to feed crowds who gathered to celebrate the start of a new school year.

The fair "is a huge celebration for our faculty and school families," said Meg Olsen, the school's marketing and enrollment director.

The event featured "all of the fun of an old-fashioned carnival," Olsen said, with rides, games, a photo booth, an inflatable obstacle course and the finale - a lip sync contest featuring students in the junior high.

Ss. Peter and Paul Home and School hosts the annual event, described on the promotional flier as "a wonderful opportunity for families to be in the school together as one faithful community."
