Gurnee Hooters Helps Build A Home For A Local Family
Eleven representatives from the Gurnee Hooters location volunteered their time on September 10th to help build a home for the Crawford family in Waukegan. General Manager Ed Hamilton, several Hooters Girls, a kitchen staffer, the Marketing Manager and members of the training team joined forces with Habitat for Humanity Lake County. In addition to volunteering their time, Hooters Management Corporation made a donation to Habitat for Humanity Lake County for $2,500. The house Hooters worked on is the 30th Anniversary House. Quamesha Crawford and her 2 year old son, Major will be the homeowners.
"The team at Hooters enjoys being able to help our community. The Gurnee Hooters location is thankful to be able to assist the Quamesha Crawford and her son Major with a place to call home," said Gurnee Hooters General Manager Ed Hamilton.
Habitat for Humanity Lake County has been providing new affordable homes and hope to low income families for 30 years in Lake County, IL. Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Crawford is currently working on her volunteer hours and training. She is a single mom, college graduate and currently is employed as an in school suspension supervisor in Waukegan. "She is so excited and cannot wait until her home is ready. She cannot wait for a yard for her son to play in. Thank you for giving hope to Qumeasha and Major in helping their dream come true," said Debbie Murphy, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Lake County, IL.
