Household chemical waste collections next month in Gurnee

Household chemical waste collections will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 and Monday, Oct. 28, at the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County facility, 1311 N. Estes St., Gurnee.

Appointments are required and collections are for residential waste only. The events are free to Illinois residents only.

Allowed items include CFL bulbs, medicines and supplements, household cleaners, gasoline, garden chemicals, pesticides, oil-based paints and varnishes, and other household chemicals. Latex paint is not accepted.
