Wheeling High School to hold inaugural black tie gala on October 5 to raise funds

Wheeling High School will celebrate 55 years of student successes and raise money for student futures at an inaugural gala this fall.

The school's Bright Futures Gala will be held Saturday, October 5 at the Traditions of Chevy Chase Country Club, 1000 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wheeling. Dress is black-tie optional, and community members, alumni, parents and business members are invited.

The cocktail reception and silent auction begin at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The event overall will include an open bar, dancing, silent auction and raffle. Entertainment will be provided by the Midnight Band and by Wheeling's award-winning orchestra and jazz band.

All ticket sales will support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, funding things like field trip fees, Advanced Placement exams, SAT test prep, career exploration opportunities and other experiences that boost opportunities for success.
