Increases needed for DuPage elections

I guess it shouldn't surprise me that Dan Cronin subscribes to the GOP strategy of winning seats by making it hard for American citizens to vote. I refer here to his refusal to pay for much-needed increases in the budget for DuPage County's election division.

I wonder if Mr. Cronin voted in person on Election Day recently in DuPage County? If he had, I'd be very surprised if he still thinks this is unnecessary. I'm a new election judge and have worked the polls for the last two elections. Most of the judges are at least 70-plus. We had lines out the door all day at my polling place in Lombard. All of us, Democrats and Republicans, or as our technical judge says, "the good guys and the bad guys" worked together from 5 a.m. to almost 9 p.m. to make sure that all citizens were able to cast their vote.

We heard horror stories from other precincts with broken machines and angry and disappointed voters being turned away.

Making it hard to vote is as un-American as it comes. Please contact your county representative to let them know what you think and how important it is to protect our right to vote.
