Learn about Christian author C.S. Lewis at Oct. 19 seminar at Elgin church
On Saturday, Oct. 19, Evangelical Covenant Church of Elgin, 1565 Larkin Ave., will offer a seminar on author C.S. Lewis from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a $5 donation which includes lunch.
It will be presented by David C. Downing and Crystal Downing, co-directors of the Marion E. Wade Center at Wheaton College, which is known internationally as a center for C. S. Lewis studies.
In the morning the topic will be "The Most Reluctant Convert: The Spiritual Journey of C.S. Lewis" by David, followed in the afternoon by Crystal's presentation, "Scandalizing the Journey: Dorothy L. Sayers's Influence on C.S. Lewis."

The Marion E. Wade Center promotes cultural engagement and spiritual formation by offering a collection of resources available nowhere else in the world. They emphasize the ongoing relevance of seven British Christian authors who provide a distinctive blend of intellect, imagination, and faith: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Dorothy L. Sayers, George MacDonald, G.K. Chesterton, Owen Barfield, and Charles Williams.
