Grant, Mundelein pick up wins; Carmel edged

Grant 32, Grayslake Central 14: The visiting Bulldogs improved to 4-0 and 2-0 in the Northern Lake County Conference.

The Rams fell to 0-4 and 0-2 in the NLCC.

Mundelein 29, Waukegan 14: The host Mustangs celebrated homecoming by picking up their first win in North Suburban Conference play.

Mundelein evened its overall record to 2-2 and NSC mark to 1-1.

The Bulldogs fell to 0-4 and 0-2 in the NSC.

St. Patrick 32, Carmel 31: Avery Bugaj scored from 1 yard out and threw a 58-yard touchdown pass to Kimahri Wilson for the host Corsairs, who opened play in the newly formed Chicago Catholic League/East Suburban Catholic Conference Purple Division.

Carmel (1-3) also got a 98-yard kickoff return for a TD from Jalen Burton on the opening kick.
