No ban needed

The solution to so-called assault weapons is so simple that I can't believe it hasn't been discussed. Do not ban assault weapons, just increase the waiting period to pick up the gun to 10 years. Also, freeze any private sale or transfer of any assault weapon - with a penalty of mandatory five years in a federal prison.
