Wadsworth Catholic school wins WNPL summer reading contest

For the second year in a row, the students of St. Patrick School won the Warren-Newport Public Library's summer reading program trophy. The Wadsworth school had the largest percentage of students who completed the reading gauntlet. The custom-designed trophy will reside at St. Patrick School until next summer when WNPL's summer reading programs return. This year, the reading program ran from June 1 to Aug. 10 and was called "Reach For The Moon." Children who participated were able to track the number of minutes they read on a smartphone app. Ten days before the program ended, the library announced that participants had read a total of 1 million minutes, which was the program's goal.
