Barrington Hills Hosts its 7th Annual The Hills Are Alive Fall Festival Sept. 29th

The Village of Barrington Hills is hosting its 7th Annual The Hills Are Alive Fall Festival on Sunday, September 29th - rain or shine - at the Barrington Hills Park District Riding Center (361 Bateman Road) where fairgoers are invited to enjoy an afternoon filled with family-fun attractions, games, food and live music.

The festival began seven years ago with the vision of Barrington Hills Village President Martin McLaughlin and Trustee Colleen Konicek as a way to bring the community together to meet their neighbors.

"We live on five-acre lots, in non-conventional neighborhoods, where it may not be as easy to mingle with our neighbors. The festival has been a success year after year, in large part to our donors and volunteers, and of course the residents who come out to enjoy the day, and we thank them for their support," says McLaughlin.

This year's festival features sumptuous BBQ, buttery popcorn, fluffy cotton candy, sweets 'n treats, and live acoustic melodies rocked out by local performers Sons of Bildor and Colin Cimmarusti in an autumnal backdrop that only Mother Nature can provide.

Returning crowd-pleasers are the ever-impressive Living Horse Museum, the scintillating Scales and Tales Interactive Animal Show, the beloved Petting Zoo and SOUL Harbour Ranch's most loving Mini Therapy Horses, among customary fest favorites of hayrides, face painting, balloon creations and Glowby the Bubbler, to name a few.

Spotlighting Barrington Hills' initiative of becoming a Bee City, Saturdays Are for The Bees will be "buzzing" about the importance of bees and beekeeping in our community. Think there aren't differences in honey? We "bug" to differ! Don't miss the honey tasting matchup. Come on out to "bee" informed!
