Lake County gets new assistant administrator

Lake County soon will have a new assistant administrator to help lead the large county staff, officials confirmed. Cassandra Torstenson, formerly the city administrator in Brainerd, Minnesota, has been hired for the job. Torstenson has roots in the Chicago suburbs and has held bureaucratic jobs here before, officials said, including being the director of green economy and sustainable water at the College of Lake County. She'll start her new job this month. Lake County's administration has seen significant personnel turnover during the past year or so, with several top employees leaving and being replaced.
