Oak Brook cops: Suspect in custody after sexual assault

A suspect is in custody as Oak Brook police continue to investigate a reported sexual assault Monday morning at the Hyatt House at 210 W. 22nd St.

The victim, a 20-year-old hotel employee, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment.

Police said they responded at 11:48 a.m. and, upon arrival, learned the suspect may still be the area and armed with a handgun. Officers searched the hotel room by room but did not find the attacker, believed to be a relative of a hotel guest.

Officers from the DuPage County sheriff's office and seven other police agencies assisted.

Oak Brook officers working with Chicago police found the suspect in Chicago at roughly 4 p.m. and were bringing him to Oak Brook for questioning. His name is being withheld at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the department's Crime Tip Line at (630) 368-8760.
