Former Bear Dan Hampton to visit Arlington Heights Senior Center

Meet Chicago Bears legendary Dan "Danimal" Hampton at the Arlington Heights Senior Center as they kickoff the season with an "Open House for Rookies & Huddle with Hampton."

The free event will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road. Enjoy complimentary, tailgate-style food and learn about the senior center's programs, classes and services available to those 50 years and older by touring the facility.

The Open House, sponsored by Arlington Heights Senior Center, Inc., is intended for rookies (newcomers) ages 50 and older and those who have not visited the Senior Center as a way to learn about the innovative programs and services available for those reaching midlife and beyond.

Beginning at 12:30 p.m., Hampton will spend time talking about his football career and what he does now to stay fulfilled in his "second half" of life.

During the meet and greet from 1-2:30 p.m., attendees can get an autograph or have their picture taken with Dan Hampton, retired Hall of Fame American football defensive tackle who played 12 seasons for the Chicago Bears from 1979 to 1990.

In addition, there will be complimentary refreshments served throughout the event. Representatives from all eight Senior Center agencies will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.

The Senior Center is offering new Midlife Programs that include unique seminars as well as a six-week series aimed at helping people achieve personal and professional goals in the second half of their lives.

Check out the new programming, as well as other upcoming program and events at the senior center during September and October.
