New medical policy is cruel to children

There is a long-standing policy in this country called medical deferred action, which means foreigners can legally enter this country to seek medical treatment, especially for their children, that isn't available to them in their own countries. This applies to foreigners visiting here who become ill or whose children become ill. It is essentially designed for humanitarian reasons to help save lives.

It has come out through Rachel Maddow and other news sources that the Trump administration has sent letters to parents whose children are under treatment that they must leave their children 33 days from the date of the letter. So if these kids are still being treated, it does not matter. They must go back to their own countries. In essence for many, this is a death sentence.

I am a retired critical care RN. I can't imagine anything more cruel than to cut off care, especially to children who are being kept alive by such care. I recall taking care of some patients who met this criteria.

By now what more do Trump supporters need to see to know how depraved he really is?
