Man injured in tollway crash near Elmhurst Road in Des Plaines

A man was injured in a crash Thursday night on westbound I-90 in Des Plaines just before the Elmhurst Road exit, officials said.

The extent of the man's injuries was undetermined, but he was alive and conscious, Des Plaines Fire Department Lt. William Butenschoen said. His vehicle struck the median about 7:30 p.m., and he was ejected from the car.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and a passerby stopped traffic until authorities arrived, Butenschoen said.

The victim was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
