John Bolton scored 3 touchdowns, Dylan Mendoza returned an interception for a touchdown, and Grant's football team opened its season with a 45-7 win over visiting Woodstock on Friday night.

Grant visits Stagg next Friday night.

Richmond-Burton 48, Wauconda 12: Dalton Wood scored 5 touchdowns, as the host Rockets won the season opener.

Wauconda has its home opener next Friday night when it hosts Riverside-Brookfield.

Deerfield 27, Lakes 24: The visiting Eagles dropped their season opener.

Lakes has its home opener next Friday night when it hosts Highland Park.

Lincoln-Way East 30, Stevenson 7: The hosts spoiled the Stevenson head-coaching debut of Brent Becker.

Stevenson has its home opener next Friday night when it hosts Neuqua Valley.
