Carol Stream Woman's Club hosts 'Purses with a Purpose Auction' Sept. 8

The Carol Stream Woman's Club will hold its 11th annual "Purses With a Purpose Auction" on Sunday, Sept. 8.

New and gently loved purses will be auctioned and there will also be a table of purses for purchase.

Along with the auction the fun will continue with a wine pull, jewelry resale, and basket raffle.

The entrance fee of $5 includes one mimosa and one raffle ticket! You may purchase more raffle tickets.

Appetizers and desserts will be provided and there will be a cash bar.

It will be held at the American Legion Post 76, 498 S. Gary Ave., Carol Stream.

Doors open for preview at 1 p.m. with the auction at 2 pm.

Proceeds from the fundraiser goes to scholarships, community service organizations and other worthy causes. The money raised supports the local community.

The Carol Stream Woman's Club is a charitable organization whose membership is open to all women from Carol Stream and the surrounding towns who want to volunteer, make new friends and have fun while making our communities a better place.

The club will host its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Find out what the club is all about and get an update on the village from two Carol Stream trustees.

The meeting will begin with social time at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. Carol Stream Village Board trustees Matt McCarthy and Mary Frusolone, who is also a club member, will offer a "Carol Stream Update," reviewing current conditions and highlighting future plans for the community.

At 7:30 p.m., the club will hold its business meeting. You are welcome to stay and learn more about the club.

The Carol Stream Woman's Club meets at Glenbard North High School, 990 Kuhn Road, Carol Stream. Enter through Door 1 and go straight into the teacher's cafeteria.

The club has events and projects that support their chosen philanthropies and give back to the community all while enjoying a social relationship with other women in the community. Open to women from neighboring towns. Their motto is "make new friends and make a difference".
