Cubs vs. New York Mets at Citi Field

Pitching matchups: The Cubs' Yu Darvish (4-6) vs. Marcus Stroman (7-11) Tuesday; Kyle Hendricks (9-9) vs. Noah Syndergaard (9-6) Wednesday; Jon Lester (10-9) vs. Jacob deGrom (8-7) Thursday. All games 6:10 p.m.

At a glance: The teams split four games at Wrigley Field in late June, when it looked like Mets manager Mickey Callaway was in trouble. Since then, the Mets have righted the ship and are in wild-card contention. Rookie Pete Alonso has a line of .265/.368/.592 with 41 home runs and 100 RBI. Jeff McNeil entered Monday leading the National League in batting average, with a full line of .333/.402/.530 with 15 homers and 55 RBI. Like the Cubs, the Mets are better at home than on the road. They are 37-24 at home and 30-39 on the road. The Cubs are 44-22 at home and 25-39 away from Wrigley Field. Even with a formidable three starting pitchers this week, the Mets headed into Monday sixth in the NL in ERA (4.31), while the Cubs were third (4.13).
