Boys soccer: Stevenson wins opener as Duratovic, Skordilis net hat tricks

Alem Duratovic and Anthony Skordilis each scored 3 goals, and Stevenson's boys soccer team opened its season with a 7-0 win over Grayslake Central on Tuesday.

Skordilis also had 2 assists, as did Segi Odongo. Adam Hamad contributed a goal and an assist. Camron Mahdavian and Christian Yen also had assists.

Stevenson keepers Itay Gozalzani and Max Goldstein shared the shutout.

Warren 7, Harvard 1: At Grayslake North, Ishaan Shah scored in the first minute off an assist from Luke Schoenbrunn, as the Blue Devils cruised in their invite opener.

Max Floriani (free kick), Brandon Medina (Mark Aguilera assist), Nolan Ehlers (Josh Segura assist), Segura, Noe Martinez and Isaac Morales also scored.

Warren keeper Nic Diana made 3 saves in 40 minutes, as the Blue Devils improved to 2-0.

Rolling Meadows: 1, Vernon Hills 0: The Mustangs scored in the opening half en route to spoiling the Cougars' season opener.

Vernon Hills keepers Keven Martinez (1 goal against) and Nick Burrows each made 3 saves.

"We did not come out prepared to play in the first ten minutes where we gave the goal up," Cougars coach Mike McCaulou said. "After we settled in we played better. You have to give credit to Rolling Meadows for staying compact and in their system. Looking forward to seeing the progress we make come Thursday."
