Teen dies in ATV crash, vehicle ran into tree

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire authorities say a 17-year-old boy has died after the ATV he was operating crashed into a tree in Concord.

Fish and Game conservation officers say the teen, from Chicago, and a group of friends were taking turns riding the vehicle near a residence they were visiting Thursday night. The teen was riding the ATV when one of the friends heard a loud crash. The group ran to investigate and found him unresponsive.

The friends quickly began CPR and called for help. The Concord Fire Department quickly arrived and took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers say the teen, whose name wasn't released, was riding at a high rate of speed, lost control of the ATV, and struck the tree. He wasn't wearing a helmet.
