School district closed while air quality is tested

BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (AP) - Authorities are advising people to stay away from a school in southwestern Indiana while air quality is tested.

Classes are canceled Friday in Eastern Greene district in Bloomfield in Greene County. Authorities are focusing on Eastern Greene Middle School.

The county's Emergency Management Agency said Thursday that the cause of the "hazardous materials incident" was under investigation. Some people were taken to area hospitals but no serious illnesses were reported.

Employees were barred from going into the middle school to get possessions.
