Welcome home ceremony Sunday for Honor Flight vets

A welcome home ceremony for Lake County Honor Flight No. 16 will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Veterans Memorial Park, 1801 Sheridan Road, North Chicago.

There will be a police and motorcycle escort for the veterans from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. At the ceremony, there will be a color guard presentation, speeches of gratitude from local officials, stories from the veterans, gifts and fanfare.

Honor Flight No. 16 will take 23 World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans to Washington, D.C.
