Highland Park's inaugural Venetian Night Saturday

The North Shore Yacht Club is hosting Highland Park's inaugural Venetian Night at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Park Avenue Boating Facility, 21 Park Ave., Highland Park.

The event is part of the city's 150th anniversary celebration and will feature a parade, set to launch at 8:30 p.m., of illuminated and decorated kayaks, paddleboards and powerboats. The parade will proceed from the boat launch area past the water plant to the north parking lot and back again. Viewers can watch along the north beach area and in front of the water treatment plant.
