Rep. Grant Wehrli's free Children's Safety Expo returns Aug. 24

Don't miss the Traveling World of Reptiles Show, a Brookfield Zoo Show-and-Tell, a touch-a-truck exhibit, interactive safety presentations and more at Rep. Grant Wehrli's free Children's Safety Expo on Saturday, Aug. 24, in Naperville.

The expo will be 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Frontier Sports Complex, 3380 Cedar Glade Drive.

It will feature more than 40 booths staffed by a variety of groups and organizations that assist children and families. In addition to the booths, other special activities include a Brookfield Zoo Show-And-Tell at 10 a.m., Lifestar Medical Helicopter between 10 a.m. and noon, Traveling World of Reptiles Show at 11 a.m., and face painting from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

"Promoting children's health and safety is extremely important, and this year's expo offers children and families a great opportunity to learn about issues such as cyber bullying, nutrition, bicycle safety, college savings programs and more," said Wehrli. "This expo is always very well-attended, and families come back year after year not just for the information, but also for the fun, hands-on activities for children."

Admission is free. There will also be free giveaways at the event. To view a full list of participants, visit repwehrli.com.
