This is a destination for art lovers and families alike. For the kids, there will be hands-on art opportunities, as well as a playground to enjoy. A classical guitarist will be at the north side of the park for your listening pleasure.
Food is available for purchase in the park, as well as food trucks, new this year, parked on the west side of the park.
The Art Guild was formed in 1971 to promote an interest in art, offer demonstrations by artists at their meetings, network with other artists and to create an opportunity to display their art to the community.
Each year they award scholarships to three talented art students attending District 214 high schools.
New members are welcome at the guild meetings, which are held at 7:15 p.m. the third Thursday of the month, September through May, excluding December, at the Wheeling Township Village Hall, 1616 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.
Meetings include demonstrations by a guest artist in a variety of mediums. Membership is open to all art enthusiasts by coming to a meeting, picking up an application at the fair or visiting arlingtonheightsartguild.com.
