Nominations Needed for Employment Awareness Award

The Arlington Heights Commission for Citizens with Disabilities is seeking nominations by Friday, Aug. 30, for its Disability Employment Awareness Award.

The award is given in recognition of the National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), which is a time to celebrate the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities. The theme for this year - that marks 74 years since the first observance, is "The Right Talent, Right Now."

The Disability Employment Awareness Award honors an Arlington Heights employer known for proactively hiring and employing workers with disabilities. The Commission seeks nominations from the community at large and self-nominations are also encouraged.

Nominations are due on Friday Aug. 30, 2019. Nomination forms are available at the Arlington Heights Health Services Department, located on the first floor of Village Hall at 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, or submit a nomination online at www.vah.com.

For any questions, please contact David Robb, Disability Services Coordinator at (847) 368-5793.
