Two longtime Palatine youth football volunteers honored by Dick Butkus Foundation

Two longtime Palatine Amateur Football Association volunteers, Coach Mike Spedale and former administrative head/team mom Tanya Tyska, recently were honored for their years of service by receiving the Butkus Chicago Youth Sports Legacy Award. Presented by the Dick Butkus Foundation, the award recognizes those who devote their time and energy to organizations such as Palatine Amateur Football by supporting and encouraging young people to participate. Tyska said it's been an honor to serve the Palatine youth football organization's players and families. Spedale said it was humbling to receive the "entirely unexpected" award. The Palatine organization's mission is to develop great student athletes, while focusing on character and teamwork and encouraging academic achievement.
